On January 30, 2059 the World Health Alliance Association (WHAA) announced an official name for the virus that is causing a hyper-acceleration in people’s intelligence level. The name of this newly discovered virus is Scientia Maiestas Acquiro Redundo Terror 2059, abbreviated as SMART-59. The officials have first recognized its appearance on January 3, 2059.

SMART-59 is the first virus in human history that is caused by artificial intelligence that causes brain infection, leading to a significant increase in intelligence. The virus spreads from infected digital devices to humans and from one person to another. Scientists say that the infected person could develop an increase in intelligence level in various ways. A case in the United States has shown that an infected man in his 40s has developed a monumental increase in his emotional intelligence beyond a normal range and is suffering from high levels of stress and confusion.

A total of 59 cases have been recorded as of today, but according to a statement from WHAA, it is likely that there are a handful of unreported cases as individuals may want to experiment with this sudden and abnormal increase in brilliance. All reported patients are quarantined and treated in a secured governmental facility. One death has been reported so far and the experts believe that this death is due to excessive use of brain activity without any sleep nor food consumption.

SMART-59 affects different people in different ways, but according to the World Health Alliance Association, infected people have had a wide range of symptoms reported – from mild confusion to severe headache and difficulty communicating with individuals around them as they become extremely focused on thinking and striving for knowledge.

The World Health Alliance Association offered guidance to countries on how they can prepare and monitor patients infected by SMART-59.
